Dearest readers,

I wrote a book!

If you have been following my journey this past year, you may have noticed I’ve been working on the creation of my first memoir – a story about the journeys I’ve taken across the borders of this vast planet, and how those journeys ultimately helped me to meet myself on levels I could have never imagined; I reconnected with the deepest parts of my soul.

I’m so honoured to share this book with you all. After one year of writing my heart’s song, it is now out there in the world, evergreen.

What is the book about?

The personal memoir is an extension of this blog, an ode to the last eight years of The Altruistic Traveller, and a story that I felt intuitively called to share. They are not only my words and my story, but the stories of the people I’ve met along the way, and a representation of the values I carry so close to my heart: advocacy, kindness, compassion, equality and love.

The book tells of the events that unfolded after my decision to steer away from a corporate career, eight years ago, and lead a life guided by my heart. After a series of events that led me to acknowledge I was heading down a path not meant for me, I quit my job and bought a one-way ticket to Malaysia. That decision went against so many of the societal expectations placed upon me as a woman, as a daughter, and as a partner. But I had to trust that my intuition was guiding me down a path more suitable; a path in line with my inner truth.

Throughout the book, I weave in threads of romance and adventure across Australia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia, I talk about the intersection of travel and sustainability, and I share the sage wisdom I uncovered from a journey I took to meet my untethered self for the first time.

What readers are saying

“a veritable rainbow of colour”

“I laughed, I cried and was taken along your journey as if I was right there”

“Anthony Bourdain meets Danielle Steel – A perfect blend of love, adventure and wisdom”

“… Your book is beautiful. I just finished reading it this past weekend. You write from your heart, and I was completely drawn into your story with a sense of respect, empathy, compassion and love. I love the way you weave the strands of your life into a clear pathway to your soul truth. The final couple of chapters are really great in explaining where you were in life at that time and a perfect springboard for your next memoir! I so recognise the characteristic of fierce independence integrated with a need for exploration, love, connection, and purpose. And that certain characteristics within us are part of our DNA …“
